BOM quotation service — send your list, get every line priced

Our sourcing service is plain: submit your project bill of materials and receive a validated, line-item quotation. This page is where that service lives.

How a BOM moves through this desk

Paste the list into the inquiry form — a spreadsheet's worth of lines is fine as pasted text. Each line is priced against the brand that makes the item; lines that cannot be supplied are flagged on the quotation rather than dropped, and lines with ambiguous model strings come back with a clarifying question attached to that line only, so the rest of the list is not held up.

A delivery city in the first message lets freight join the same quotation. If the list is a repeat of a previous order, say so — repeat lists are checked against the earlier build for consistency.

From list to quotation

  1. Send the BOMPaste brands, models and quantities into the inquiry form.
  2. Lines are validatedModel strings are checked; ambiguous lines get a question, unavailable lines get a flag.
  3. One quotation returnsEvery line priced or flagged, freight included when the city is known.
  4. Confirm and consolidateAgree the lines, and the order consolidates into one shipment.

What the validation pass actually does

Every line passes three checks before it is priced. The string check reads the model as written — family, variant, suffix — and flags strings that are incomplete or internally inconsistent. The junction check reads the list as a system: hosts against their modules, switches against their optics, panels against their room systems. The completeness check looks for the lines a list like this usually implies and does not yet have.

Flags are not edits. A flagged line is priced as written where pricing is possible, and the flag explains what was noticed and what would settle it. The BOM stays yours; the quotation simply refuses to let a doubtful line pass in silence.

The BOM as a living document

Real BOMs change: a design revision lands mid-tender, a quantity doubles, a product line is swapped for its successor. Send the revision as a new version of the same list and the quotation is re-issued against it, with changed lines marked against the previous version so the delta is reviewable at a glance.

Version discipline helps both sides: name the current revision in the message, and the reply quotes that revision only. Superseded versions are never priced quietly in the background.

What comes back, line by line

The returning quotation mirrors your list in order: each line priced, flagged, or answered with a question, and nothing silently dropped. Lines added by the junction check — a module a host implies, an optic a switch needs — appear as clearly marked suggestions after the list they complete, never merged into your lines.

Freight joins the quotation where a destination city is known, stated per shipment rather than buried in line prices. Where the order later splits into phases or cities, the same line prices hold and only the freight picture is reworked.

Common questions

What format should the BOM be in?

Pasted text is fine — brand, model, quantity per line. Spreadsheet order is not required.

Part of my list is another brand entirely — include it?

Include it. If it sits inside a supplied brand's range it will be priced; if not, it is flagged, not silently removed.

Which formats can a BOM arrive in?

Any readable text: pasted spreadsheet rows, a table in a document, or plain lines in the message itself. Brand, model, quantity per line is the content that matters.

Can a BOM be sent in stages?

Yes — send sections as they freeze. Each is validated and priced on arrival, and the sections consolidate into one order when you are ready.
