Rack power distribution units
PDU lines sit in our product scope next to our modules — quoted here by outlet count, plug standard and metering needs.

The unglamorous line that delays rows
PDUs are small money and large delays: a row of racks cannot power up on the wrong plug standard. The desk quotes rack PDU lines with the rest of the data centre order — state the outlet count per rack, the plug and socket standards at the delivery site, and whether the design wants metered or basic units.
If PDUs ride on a larger BOM, they are priced as their own lines on the same quotation, so the power plan for each rack is visible before the order is placed.
PDU inquiry checklist
- Outlets per unit and units per rack
- Plug and socket standards at the site
- Basic, metered or switched requirement
- Vertical (zero-U) or horizontal rack mounting
Count the rack before the outlets
A PDU brief starts from the rack it feeds: how many devices, what each draws, and which of them need dual feeds. Dual-corded servers want two PDUs on separate feeds; single-corded devices want a decision about which feed carries them. State the rack's device list and the PDU lines are quoted to the actual load plan.
Metering is a management decision. Basic PDUs power a rack; metered PDUs tell you what the rack is doing; switched PDUs let you act on it remotely. The design's expectation belongs on the inquiry — the price step between the three is real, and the quotation prices the class named.
Common questions
Can PDUs ship with the rack hardware?
Yes — they consolidate with switches, servers and storage on one order.
Do you need the site's plug standard?
Yes — plug standards differ by country and change the unit quoted; name the destination in the inquiry.
How many PDUs does a rack need?
It follows the feed design: dual-corded estates usually run two per rack. Send the rack's device list and the quotation works it out with you.
