Wi-Fi 7 access points and the 6E ranges behind them
Current-generation wireless: Wi-Fi 7 models for new builds and Wi-Fi 6E where the design calls for it — quoted by exact model.

The U7 line leads the listings
On our product index, the UniFi U7 family is the current headline: U7 Lite for cost-led rollouts, U7 Pro and U7 Pro XG for high-density areas, and U7 Outdoor for external coverage. Wi-Fi 6E models from the other supplied brands remain available for designs standardised on 6E.
Wi-Fi 7 APs draw more PoE than older generations. If the same order includes PoE switches, put both on one BOM so the switching budget is quoted against the AP load.

What Wi-Fi 7 changes on an order
The move to Wi-Fi 7 shows up on an order in two places: the AP models themselves, and everything that feeds them. Higher radio loads draw more power per port, and multi-gigabit wireless wants multi-gigabit switch ports behind it. A Wi-Fi 7 inquiry that ignores the switching layer prices only half the upgrade.
Client mix matters too. Estates serve years of older devices alongside the newest ones, and Wi-Fi 7 APs carry them all — but the design's reason for upgrading is usually density or throughput in specific areas. Name those areas and the quotation concentrates the current-generation models where they earn their place.
6E as the deliberate choice
Wi-Fi 6E remains the right answer where an estate is standardised on it: matched spares, matched management, no mixed-generation surprises. This desk quotes 6E lines on the same terms as Wi-Fi 7 — the generation is a design decision, not a sales direction, and the quotation follows the design.
If the design is undecided between generations for part of the estate, mark those areas open. The quotation can price both generations for the same areas, side by side, so the project decides with numbers in hand.
Common questions
Is Wi-Fi 6 still available?
Yes — Wi-Fi 6 and 6E ranges from the supplied brands can be quoted alongside Wi-Fi 7. Name the generation your design uses.
Do U7 access points need PoE+ switches?
Higher-draw APs need switches with the budget and per-port output to match — include the switch lines on the same inquiry if they are part of the order.
Do Wi-Fi 7 APs need new switches?
Not always — but their power draw and uplink speeds should be checked against the existing switching. Include the switch models on the inquiry and the check happens at quotation stage.
